3 April 2025 - meeting between high-level representatives from JOIST India and MRIC

11 June 2025 - Visit by the U.S. Ambassador

Visit from H.E. Henry V. Jardine, U.S. Ambassador to Mauritius and Seychelles, accompanied by Mrs. Anjana Khemraz-Chikhuri, Economic and Commercial Specialist.

Discussions centered on exciting opportunities for collaboration in areas such as space and satellite technologies, combating gender-based violence, intellectual property rights, grassroots innovation and potential partnerships with the National Science Foundation. The visit also explored the participation of MRIC in upcoming international events organized by the U.S. Embassy.

26 August 2025 - Strategic Dialogue with ROSCOSMOS: A New Frontier for Mauritius in Space

High-level strategic dialogue between ROSCOSMOS, the Russian State Space Corporation and the MRIC. This important exchange was made possible through the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mauritian Mission in Moscow, and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Mauritius.

The discussions provided MRIC with a comprehensive overview of ROSCOSMOS' expertise and opened the door to exciting opportunities for collaboration, including capacity building in the space and satellite sector; joint research and development initiatives and advancing downstream space applications.

22 September 2025

Visit of a delegation consisting of Prof BingFang Wu and Assoc Prof Miao Zhang from Aerospace Information Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS) to explore avenues of collaboration between the AIRCAS and the MRIC. The team was accompanied by Dr A Gungoosingh Bunwaree from FAREI.

6 March 2026

Visit by a distinguished delegation from the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) and JICA at MRIC, accompanied by Dr. Vinay Ancharaz, Executive Director of NPCC.

The delegation included:

Mr. George Murumba, Principal Programme Officer, AUDA-NEPAD’s Industrialisation Division, leading initiatives supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem, MSMEs, the African Kaizen Initiative, and the Home-Grown Solutions Accelerator Programme.
Mrs. Junko Matsubara, JICA Advisor on the Africa Kaizen Initiative / Industrialisation.

The visit provided an excellent platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, reinforcing our shared commitment to innovation, industrialisation, and the growth of MSMEs across Africa.

14 April 2026 - Visit by Chargé d’Affaires Craig Halbmaier from the U.S. Embassy

This visit highlighted Mauritius’ contribution to the ongoing Artemis II mission, with particular emphasis on MRIC’s pivotal role in the successful launch and operation of MIR-SAT1, a remarkable milestone in U.S.- Mauritius collaboration in the space sector.

14 April 2026

Visit by the privilege of welcoming Cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov for an engaging meeting, held in the esteemed presence of H.E. Mrs Irada Zeynalova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Mauritius, along with Ms. Ekaterina Zernova.

18 May 2026

Visit by Mr Jim Adams, Former NASA Deputy Chief Technologist, along with US officials.

7 September 2026 - Visit by a delegation from the Turkish Space Agency

The visit provided an opportunity to explore potential areas of collaboration and partnership in space, science, technology and innovation.

11 September 2026 - Visit by a delegation from WIPO

Visit from Mr Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), along with WIPO officials, Ms Beatriz Amorim-Borher, Ms Loretta Asiedu and Ms Julieta Nhane, for a working session with MRIC Executive Director, Prof. Theesan Bahorun, Chairperson Dr Khemduth Singh Angateeaah, and MRIC Officials, on Friday, 11 September 2026, at the MRIC premises. The session provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views and explore avenues for strengthening collaboration in the areas of intellectual property, innovation, science and technology.
