It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to this edition of the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council Newsletter.
Mauritius has progressively built a strong foundation for research and innovation through investment in research, the development of national priorities, expanding international partnerships and growing capabilities in emerging fields. The MRIC has been an important contributor to this journey. As we look ahead, the opportunity is to build upon these achievements towards a more connected, dynamic and impact-driven national research and innovation ecosystem.

Welcome to our online newsletter.
As you flip through this newsletter and take stock of what enlivens this issue: our Call for Proposals, the success of National Innovation Challenge and the National Innovator Hall of Fame events, the coordination of the National Research Week, World Intellectual Property Day, our growing engagement with Horizon Europe, the Regional Innovation Challenge, and the steady work of our Space Unit, I find myself, this time, looking less, (certainly not undermining) at what these achievements represent in themselves, and more at what they have been consistently preparing us for.
