Les Assises de la Recherche et de l'Innovation 2.0 Mauritius
Les Assises de la Recherche et de l’Innovation 2022 in Mauritius (ARI 2022) and Rodrigues (RodInov 2022) was organised, whereby a national dialogue was initiated and conducive framework for policy revamping was provided in seven identified thematics. The outcome served as the foundation for the recommendations that shaped the National Roadmap for Research and Innovation (NRRI).
As planned, the NRRI underwent a midterm review on the 23rd and 24th of January 2025. Given that most of thematic areas have reached completion and taking into consideration the evolution of the socio-economic environment, it has been proposed to consider alignment of current ongoing thematic areas and consideration of new sectors of development.
This second landmark summit aimed at actualizing the National Roadmap for Research, and Innovation and was attended by about four hundred stakeholders.
The objectives are outlined as follows:

Actualise the National Roadmap

Identification and introduction of strategies to drive leadership in emerging technologies and sectors

Elimination of barriers to sectoral innovation
-
Coordinating disparate policies toward research, technology commercialization, investments, education, tax, trade, IP, government procurement, and regulatory policies in an integrated fashion that drives economic growth
In view of the above, 5 thematic areas have been discussed:

Precision Engineering & Manufacturing Innovation
