This report provides a comprehensive analysis of the world's leading startup ecosystems, ranking countries and cities based on their innovation, funding opportunities, and policy support. It highlights key global trends, including the impact of AI, geopolitical shifts, and emerging industry developments. It also showcases Mauritius' growing startup landscape, emphasizing government initiatives, investment opportunities, and the country's strategic position as a leading startup hub in Africa.


The report ranks 100 countries and 1,000 cities, identifying emerging and dominant ecosystems. As per the report, Mauritius has a rapidly growing startup ecosystem supported by strong public-private collaboration. Ranking 59th globally and second in Africa, the country benefits from pro-business policies, financial incentives, and robust infrastructure.


The 2024 Global Startup Ecosystem Index highlights both challenges and opportunities for startups worldwide. While the funding landscape remains uncertain, emerging sectors such as AI and Healthtech continue to thrive. Mauritius is positioning itself as a leading startup hub in Africa, thanks to strong government policies, financial incentives, and strategic infrastructure development.
