The Mauritius Research and Innovation (MRIC) has been awarded the Global Distinguished Innovator (GDI) Award by the Global Innovation Institute (USA) for 'Fostering Open Innovation in Mauritius Through Innovation Competitions and Innovative Events and the Use of Emerging Technologies' in the category 'Distinguished Innovation by Public Sector'. The MRIC has been recognised for the innovations implemented during the award ceremonies of the 3rd edition of the National Innovation Challenge and the 1st edition of the National Innovator Hall of Fame, innovation competitions organised by the MRIC.

Prof Theesan Bahorun, our Executive Director, was honoured with the Innovation Leadership Award at the prestigious Africa Leadership Awards held on 12th December 2024 at Hilton Mauritius Resort and Spa, Flic en Flac. 

 

This recognition is not just a personal milestone for Prof Bahorun, but also a tribute to the incredible work being carried out by the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC) in terms of Research, Development and Innovation.
