ISRI Conference (Seychelles)
The International Science, Research and Innovation Conference (ISRI Con) 2025 was held on 18–19 March 2025 at the University of Seychelles, Anse Royale, Mahé, successfully bringing together participants from across Mauritius, Seychelles, Comoros, Madagascar, Réunion, Burkina Faso, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Organized under the TWENex programme, this landmark event focused on the transformation of waste into sustainable energy, a priority area for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Indian Ocean and beyond.
The two-day hybrid conference attracted researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and policymakers, offering a platform for sharing impactful research, discussing enabling policy environments, and exploring collaborative projects. Key themes included technological innovations, regulatory frameworks, and successful case studies in waste-to-energy.
A Call for Abstracts launched towards the end of 2024 received 34 submissions, with 27 abstracts selected for presentation by an independent panel. Presenters showcased a range of solutions—from grassroots projects to scientific breakthroughs.
Participants were appreciative of the ISRI Con 2025 for its role in fostering regional partnerships and advancing sustainable energy solutions. The conference has laid a foundation for future collaboration and innovation in environmental resilience and clean energy transition.
