Call for Proposals - Proof of Concept Scheme (PCS)

The Call for Proposals - Proof of Concept Scheme for short-term and medium-term projects emanating from Les Assises de la Recherche et de l’Innovation 2022 / National Roadmap for Research and Innovation 2023-2027 was launched on Friday 9th February 2024. Given the complexity of the scheme and application form, two awareness sessions were organised online on Thursday 15th February and Wednesday 21st February 2024. The purpose of the sessions was to give prospective applicants a detailed overview of the scheme, its main features, and the steps involved in applying and being evaluated. They were guided on how to complete the application form, including the administrative, technical, and financial aspects. Notably, there were around 140 attendees for both online sessions. During the sessions, more than 140 questions were answered both live and through the chat box. The Project Advisory Unit addressed more than 30 calls from the public and replied to more than 40 emails during the time that the call for proposals was open.

Following the deadline for submission of applications on Thursday 7th March 2024, 68 applications were received (project value: MUR 213.0 M; MRIC contribution: MUR 120.6 M).

As at 31st July 2024, ten (10) projects were approved (project value: MUR 25.26 M; MRIC contribution: MUR 16.25 M).
